INTRODUCTION

We, Bharata Ratna Mahila Mandali Established in the year 1987 has been continuously fighting till date for the rights of the women in the field of women trafficking and extend our attention to the girl children who are sexually abused – Child marriage without attaining major status – Single women problems – Dowry harassed women – Sent out women and women abused in all manners. We give shelter to the girl children – abused in the above manner – Give vocational training to them in the fields they are interested and restore them to their families.

We are striving to eradicate women trafficking which is spreading like cancer in today’s society. We move to places where we are informed about trafficking, rescue and bring them to our Shelter home, where our experts give counseling to them by explaining the negativeness of the profession they are into. We give shelter along with training by our experts in the field of Tailoring, Zari Work, Hand work, Doormats making, soft toys making etc. At the time of restoration, seed money to the tune of Rs.20,000 is given to them, to engage themselves in income generating business in the fields they are trained in our rehabilitation centre, thus making them not to indulge in trafficking profession again.

In continuation of our fighting for the women rights, we are also in the process of elimination of gender based violence, where this is again a burning issue in the society. Women are abused in all stages of their life in every manner. Hereby, we are submitting a report on gender based violence and mostly known as violence against women, where women are mostly targeted. As a women organization we come out with the steps and pains taken by us in fighting for the elimination of Gender Based Violence and thus protect women to lead a trouble free life in the society.

We are working on anti-human trafficking, gender based violence, domestic violence and developing the women and children in rural and urban areas of Kadapa district by implementing projects in the fields of health, education, agriculture, environment, women and child development, income generation for women, wastelands development, watershed management, women empowerment in rural & urban areas of Kadapa, Chittoor, Kurnool and Anantapur of Andhra Pradesh State, India, by procuring funds from donors with in India from time to time. The organization has been registered with income tax authorities having tax exemption u/s. 12-A and 80-G and also registered with Ministry of Home Affairs, Govt. of India, New Delhi, to receive foreign contributions from abroad. It has got a band of committed social workers, who are hell bent on rendering social services to poor, in both rural and urban areas of Kadapa dist
